The Big Easy
This is one georgeous city. Mainly because we are staying in a two bedroom apartment in the French Quarter (about 900 square feet). It’s really spectacular. I am not bed obsessed but my antique canopy bed is great. We have walked the Quarter all day and I will fill you in on more tomorrow.
Leaving Tallahassee
Shopping at antique stores and eating great food. Found a really wonderful vintage fountain pen. Because of course I needed another one. Ellen and I bought two vintage books for Zachary’s future mahogany library – a 1932 edition of Jules Verne’s “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and an old copy of Ibsen’s plays.

My first day
Well, this has been a real soft landing on the first day. Ellen (younger sister) and I are in Tallahassee visiting Zachary, my nephew who decided to go to FSU. I guess the loyalty skips a generaltion. Mom went to Florida State College for women, the precursor to FSU. Of course all my generation were GATORS. Will give you my impression of the place later. For now, we are checked into our hotel – the Governors Inn. The beds are about 4 feet off the ground. Photos to come.
